CODECO Industrial Workshop

Flexible and Adaptive Edge to Cloud Orchestration: The CODECO Data-Compute-Network Approach

In the context of the CODECO project, the first CODECO Industrial Workshop will be held on January 18, 2024. The event will be hosted by the Horizon Europe CODECO project and will run parallel to HIPEAC 2024 in Munich.

This event is aiming at creating awareness to novel concepts under development as basis for a flexible and decentralized Edge-Cloud orchestration. During the workshop, participants shall be able to get acquainted with the latest evolution on Edge-Cloud continuum; the CODECO data-compute-network; interact with a rich academic and industrial community.

The CODECO Industrial Workshop will provide:

  • An overview concerning challenges and opportunities across the Edge-Cloud continuum.
  • Presentations by industrial and academic on the most recent developments supporting a data-network-compute approach for Edge-Cloud orchestration.
  • Hands-on sessions on the Eclipse CODECO open-source code, being developed in CODECO.

The first CODECO industrial workshop is directed to the research community, to early developers, network operators, access and service providers, Internet stakeholders willing to get in touch with innovative use-cases, and the possibility to test-case the CODECO open-source software.

CODECO project

The project CODECO (Horizon Europe CODECO: Cognitive, Decentralized Edge-Cloud Orchestration) proposes a unique, smart, and cross-layer orchestration between decentralized data flow, computation, and networking services to address edge-cloud challenges that stem from the rising decentralization of the internet and IoT services.
Coordinated by fortiss and involving 15 relevant edge-cloud partners across Europe, the project aims to develop an ecosystem consisting of open-source toolkits, large-scale experimentation, training tools and events, use-cases across four vertical domains (smart cities, energy, manufacturing, smart buildings) and multiple events integrated into a unique innovation and research community engagement program.
