In this workshop, you will learn about a practice-oriented process model for implementing an energy management system for SMEs. The model is based on a prototypical measurement case that records the energy data. In addition, energy systems and energy flows are digitally modeled (creation of an energy data twin). This makes it possible not only to monitor energy consumption and energy generation, but also to simulate consumption.

The model was developed as part of the EILE (Energy Knowledge and Intelligent Application) project. The partners of the two Mittelstand-Digital Centers in Augsburg and Chemnitz as well as the two practice partners IBO and IMACS are involved in the project. The workshop is being held as part of the Mittelstand-Digital Center Augsburg.

Contents of the workshop

•  Implementing an open energy management system in the field: Discover how an open system can be introduced and used in practice
• First steps towards a carbon footprint and the use of energy flexibility for SMEs: Get to know methods for deriving energy and CO2e key figures and evaluating possible energy flexibilities in monetary terms
• Forecasting non-flexible loads: Learn how to predict and manage non-flexible loads to increase energy efficiency

You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the field on site at a company, IBO GmbH, and learn about the opportunities of sustainable energy management and the identification of flexibilities (possible uses of loads, self-generation and storage).
