International Mechatronics Forum 2024

The International Mechatronics Forum 2024 will take place in Cham, Upper Palatinate, from September 25 to 26, 2024. Under the motto "Future Industry X.0 - data-driven and human-centered", top-class experts will come together in the Stadthalle Cham to discuss the latest developments in the industry and promote cross-border cooperation.

Data is increasingly being used as a driving force to optimize processes, increase efficiency and drive innovation. At the same time, people are at the center of the action, as new technologies are designed to improve working conditions, increase safety and promote collaboration between man and machine in terms of user experience. Future Industry X.0 thus promises questions and solutions for the future-oriented symbiosis between people and technology, leading to a sustainable and smart industrial landscape.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), the industry is also facing the challenge of redefining the relationship between humans and machines. The presentation by Dr. Yuanting Liu, head of the competence field, will shed light on how a symbiotic relationship can be established between humans and AI, in which a mutual learning process takes place without humans losing their central role. In this context, she explains the role and function of digital assistants that process and prepare complex data to enable real-time analysis, which can be of great importance for Industry X.0. Our focus here is on productive coexistence in Industry X.0, which is supported by explainability and feedback loops. These promote the traceability of AI decisions, strengthen user trust and enable continuous optimization of the systems, which leads to improved cooperation between humans and machines.

The event brings together the participating mechatronics networks, which represent a total of over 650 companies and institutions from the German-speaking Alpine region (southern Germany, Austria, South Tyrol and Switzerland).

Program highlights:

  • Cooperation exchange: Companies meet experts from the world of science and make valuable contacts.
  • Top-class speakers: Presentations on current impulses around the topic of production.
  • Local company tours and reference projects: Insights into the East Bavarian economy.
  • Evening reception: Networking and exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.
