The fast and reliable processing of enormous amounts of data is a challenge in many areas of technology development. Artificial intelligence, and in particular the subfield of Machine Learning (ML), is a key technology that can help many applications achieve a breakthrough. However, the great variety of methods and models often makes it difficult for non-specialists to identify the most suitable approaches. For this, the advantages and disadvantages of the methods, as well as the necessary prerequisites, must be known.
As part of the TUM Venture Lab Machine Learning Training Camp, fortiss experts Johannes Kross and Julian Wörmann comprehensively passed on this knowledge to participants. The 4-day event, which was presented in December 2020 and January 2021, focused not only on an introduction to the topic and a look at classic learning methods, but also on current trends such as Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning. With the help of benchmark Machine Learning (ML) applications, attendees were also given a solid understanding of the tools and how they can be used in real-world applications.
In particular, the broad field of participants, ranging from Sport and Health Sciences to engineering disciplines and architecture, illustrates the high relevance of this key technology for a wide variety of application areas.
