Digital Innovation Hubs and collaborative platform for cyber-physical systems
The aim of HUBCAP is to deliver a vision of a sustainable network of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) and other actors that enables and encourages suppliers and users of models for cyber-physical systems (CPS) and model-based design (MBD) tools to meet and collaborate. HUBCAP will lower barriers for SMEs to realise the potential of growing autonomy in CPSs by accessing advanced MBD technology, providing training and guidance, and acting as a gateway to the full network of DIHs across Europe specialising in CPS. Working with the hubs, SMEs will be able to access central funding for experiments via open calls as well as direct support. Members will make models, tools, training materials and expertise available to each other, either freely or on a commercial basis, making it faster and easier to access MBD CPS engineering tools. This ecosystem is supported by means of a collaborative platform. HUBCAP also makes financial support available to SMEs via various kinds of Open Calls for small-scale innovation experiments.
fortiss is particularly responsible for the work to create collaboration mechanisms across the HUBCAP hubs by integrating the individual DIH services into an overall offering, enabling the cross-border access to technologies and competences, infrastructures, and learning as well as financial and market opportunities. fortiss also contributes MBD services based on the AutoFOCUS 3 tool to the HUBCAP collaboration platform to enable users of the platform to experiment and use design-space exploration capabilities.
