Innovative platform for efficient energy management and investment planning
The IDOP platform (Integrated Development and Operation Platform) forms the heart of the project. It provides tools and solutions that support the development, operation and secure management of energy management systems. The most important functions of the platform are:
Provision of development packages for energy management systems: These packages facilitate the rapid and cost-efficient development of energy management systems (CEMS) as well as aggregator energy management systems (AEMS). A sample package for customers is based on the European standard (EN 50491-12-1) and contains modules for managing resources and for controlling and optimizing energy consumption. For aggregators, packages are offered with tools that can bundle and optimally manage the flexibility of their customers' energy use.
Secure operation and management: The platform provides a secure environment for the smooth and secure operation of these systems. This includes tools for integration into existing systems and the secure management of data. Tools from the DevSecOps area will ensure that the secure and efficient operation of the energy management systems is realized.
Investment analysis: A special tool helps to evaluate investments in flexible energy services and calculate the profitability of such investments.
As part of the INDEPENDENT project, we are investigating the potential of the platform and its functionality in practice. To this end, various field tests are being carried out under real conditions to evaluate the platform's performance in real applications. These field tests will take place in buildings and industrial facilities and aim to test the efficiency, safety and flexibility of the developed IDOP platform in real environments.
The project is also investigating how integration into existing system architectures can be facilitated and what benefits it offers for companies and operators. With the help of modern technologies, such as probabilistic prediction models and neural networks, the platform should enable even more efficient and flexible control of energy consumption. In this way, INDEPENDENT is helping to establish flexible energy services on a broad basis in the industry.
fortiss will be particularly involved in the development of the customer packages and will research and develop the optimization models and control algorithms, among other things.
