A Tool Support for Continuous Assurance Case Creation
Evidential Toolbus 2 (ETB2) consists of components that work together to enable an end-to-end, decentralized and continuous safety assurance process where multiple entities are involved to establish safety claims supported by arguments and evidence.
At the heart of the architecture is the Query Processor, which contains layers that interactively work to produce claims with supporting evidence for a given query. Additional five components - Tools Database, Workflows Database, Servers Database, Claims Database, and Evidence Repository - act as a substrate for the decentralized and continual query processing and claims generation. While Tools Database contains specification of each tool hosted by a given ETB2 node, Workflows Database stores assurance workflows that can be used for processing complex queries that cannot be handled by a single tool.
The Servers Database keeps track of all remote nodes that a given ETB2 node is subscribed to. The Claims Database contains the set of claims that has been established so far on a given node. The Evidence Repository provides a tamper-proof storage for all evidence artefacts for claims hosted on a given ETB2 node.
